FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

A question I ask people when I am assisting them, "How strong is your faith?". People I have been led to help, through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, are always deeply faithful people. Many of them are not members of the same church as me, but we all pray to the same God and all Christians are worshipping the same Jesus Christ. 

Imagine all the good that would be accomplished in the world if we all united in one faith. I believe, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is His true church restored once again, after the apostasy, as spoken of in the bible.

Here is the testimony of my faith in Jesus Christ and why it is partnered with my faithful membership of His church. 

1. I know we were created by a loving Heavenly Father, and we have a Heavenly Mother.

2. We were all spirit children pre-mortal existence and there was a war in Heaven. satan wanted there to be no retribution for any wrongdoing. We must just do as we want and all will be well. Jesus Christ was willing to be sacrificed for His brothers and sisters, enabling repentance, forgiveness and eternal life. This war ended with one-third of all the spirit children following satan and being banished from Heaven.

3. I believe that through following Jesus Christ and doing good works while on earth, daily repentance from sin, faith, hope and love, we are a step in the right direction to reaching the highest degree of glory.

4. There are 3 degrees of glory (as written about in the bible and clarified by latter-day prophets and scripture) these are the Terrestrial, the Telestial and the Celestial. All of mankind (except the worst of sinners) have been gifted eternal life, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His resurrection, to one of these degrees. God only resides in the highest degree of glory- The Celestial. Our thoughts, words and deeds during this mortal journey will determine which degree of Heaven we will be living the rest of eternity in.

5. True repentance is when you have repented of the behaviour with our God, made apologies to anybody who may have been hurt by your actions and the "zinger"- NEVER repeating the behaviour. AND that is why repentance is a daily exercise. We are only human and to change behaviour, in the true sense, may take a few weeks.

6. We are His true church because we follow His church, as it was established in the New Testament. We are led by a living prophet, who issues guidelines for us, the members of the church. He is aided by his apostles, a council of 12. The church is structured in such a way that the lessons that are taught are in line with the rest of the worlds. So all 16 million members around the world will be studying the same thing weekly. He has restored the priesthood keys, the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood, which is His power on this earth once again.

7. Tithes are NOT used to pay ministers. They serve in the church with a ward council and all serve in their roles over and above their regular jobs. (This is the main reason I returned home, after a 30-year absence).

8. We have over 170 working temples around the world, and another 40 or so in the building or repairing process. These temples are used for covenants that are made with God. These include baptism for the dead and sealing to spouse and family. 

9. Families are made to be together forever. God made man and woman with their own special inherent traits, for them to be married for all eternities.  

10. NOTHING we do is ever so bad, that if we come in earnest repentance, ask forgiveness, forsake the behaviour and walk with Jesus Christ, that He won't forgive. He loves you more than you know and our inheritance in the afterlife is so much more than you can imagine. All you have to do is HAVE FAITH.

I say all these things in the sacred name of our Lord, Saviour and Brother, Jesus Christ. Amen.

I got hacked!

 So, Tuesday 26 September 2023, saw me waging a two hour war with a hacker, trying to gain access to my Facebook account, and his eventual winning. So very frustrating. My fault, I stupidly shared a FB code, to another friend, who had been hacked, hereby giving the gremlin access to mine. Why, I cry in tears, so frustrated and sad to be losing about 15 years of history, as shared on the social media platform. Mashed!

Hands up....all those that think about doing something and then never, ever get around to doing it? Yes, my arm is up to... the one not typing. Since blogging started, I have wanted to start one, but life always got in the way! There were and are better things to do with my time. There really still are, BUT I want to write. No, I also need to write. I need to keep my mind busy and what better way than a public diary? I love the written word. At one stage in my life, I was consuming an average of a 350 page novel per week. After work! I think my problem with a blog post is WHAT DO I WRITE ABOUT? My life is way too boring and hum drum for the general public to care about. TESOL Week 7 Culture and Psychology

Of course, culture and psychology are closely entwined. Your make-up, which consists of your upbringing (culture) will define the way you operate in life. This includes your IQ (intelligence quotient), EQ (emotional intelligence), PQ (physical intelligence) and your SQ (spiritual intelligence). There is a new one which has been added AQ=adversity intelligence. Let me summarise the indicators of a clear mind, a whole person, a well-rounded individual: IQ= it is your intelligence test score, as per a written exam. EQ= it is a measure of your interpersonal and communication skills. PQ= Ability to listen, identify and respond to one's internal messages about your physical self wrt weight, fitness and diet. SQ= The ability to behave with wisdom and compassion while maintaining inner and outer peace. Now I could waffle on for hours about psychology and what makes one tick, but for the essence of this blog, I am focussing on CULTURE and one's psychology and how it would apply...
